This week I scratched a creative itch by creating a podcast. You can find it over on OnThisDay.show. For the show, I’m sharing historical tidbits each day. Using Anchor.fm, it took me about ninety minutes to setup my show, record my first episode, and build out a website. It serves as a great proof of concept for any of my clients who are looking for a quick and easy way to podcast.

This week’s links:

  • AirBuddy brings the same AirPods experience you have on iOS to your Mac. The moment I saw this one, I added it to my setup. Now whenever I want to connect my AirPods to my MacBook, I just bring them close to it, open the case, and the same dialog I get on iOS comes on-screen allowing me to quickly connect.
  • Josh Holtsclaw is a graphic artist at Pixar Animation Studios. His writeup on The Graphic Art of Incredibles 2 is a fun read.
  • Doodle Addicts is a new platform dedicated to celebrating the addiction—our incessant need to draw, sketch, and doodle with anything and everything we can get our hands on. Whether it be in a sketchbook, on a napkin, with your stylus and tablet, or on a giant wall, artists of all types are welcome here. Our growing community is a place for like-minded creatives to share and inspire one another through their portfolio of artwork, quirky drawing challenges and insightful interaction.” — If you’re a fan of drawing, this site looks like a cool place to hang out.
  • I used Teleprompt.me to produce my podcast mentioned above. You enter your text. Then it serves as a teleprompter, highlighting your text as you read.
  • Buttondown is a super simple way to produce your own online newsletter.
  • NewsletterGuide.org is one of those things that makes the Internet cool. It’s a free guide for starting your own newsletter written by industry experts.
